some people who dont know about this coin say that it is dublicate.!

In 1984 in madras this tpye of coins where minted , this is called as canada mint mark coin.!
they made only 25 such coins with rudraksh mala ( 1 rupee )and 37 such coins with rudraksh mala ( 5 rupee ) ..!

This coins where not made to send out this where made for just exibition purpose
and i this year 2011 fed in nodia they made 150 rupee coins as it became 150 year after the death of rabindranath tagore, this coin is also only for exhibition purpose..!

my dear friend i am not an expert but i am knowing about coins very well,for your information first abroad coin was minted in Malaysia in 1985,25 paise coin of deer.

now what i am saying is very good for your information ,Indira Gandhi coin was not a rupee coin ,it was just a coin without currency.Indira Gandhi photo was printed in at back side.front side there is five stars and a unique number which was some secret code.it was given in a blog with original photo which was removed by administration in some other website i was lucky to see it.the coin was a great DRP.
you also know that the coin is fake,if not then it is a great mistake of yours

how to check the originality of coins
1]see the metal,the metal should be copper-nickel or only nickel.this coin is made up of steel
2]the copper-nickel coins do not shine ,this coin is shiny.
3]see the core,the core should match coins like 1975 to 1982 big one rupee coins.
4]you can use magnet to check the metal.
5]these fake coins can bought in markets of Mumbai,Delhi in not more than 10 rupees.

no one has seen original coin of Indira Gandhi.only 125 coins were made and no one knows were they are.

front face ( 1rupee,5rupee are minted )
YOu can go to R.B.I and if you know anyone there you can veiw the old records of when, where and what coins are minted every year
in my office we do those things only ..
and many books we have to know the originality of the coins
we do read everyday those books , because we dont have work in mint everyday

And that 25paisa coin of 1985 with deer , it is not of malaysia, i sent the photos of that coin, it have star, means hyderabad mint, it is minted in hyderabad only,

And as you said that it is minted in abroad , it is not true, some coins have different mint mark like c,b,circle,half moon, dot in circle and many more
those are foreign mint mark only, but those type of coins are minted in chennai.!
