Before sending us samples/photos please make sure that: Generally, when it is not ambergris: we get photos of animal fat - dried part of an animal – spermaceti – black amber (no value) – pitch coke – limestone – pumice stone – clinker – sponge - red shale – sea cucumber - wax – resin – gum – candle – paraffine – flint… Characteristics of original Ambergris are:

• Squid beaks are to be found all over the piece. • Colour is normally brown, grey or white. • Aspect is hard but breakable and not soft or waxy and never hard like a stone. • Inside shape is like kidneys or layers.

How to test your ambergris:

When you burn a small piece of 2gr in a spoon, it is not ambergris if you get a liquid, yellow like oil, but if it forms a black and sticky substance, which makes fibers when placed between the thumb and forefinger, it is possible that it is ambergris.

While sending sample pics please make sure to mention:

Location where it was found: Quantity how much. How many pieces.
