Grosso ambrosino da 8 (o 10?) denari imperiali (from c. 1298 to 1310). Milan, so called First Republic (1250-1310), AR 2.09 g. Trefoil MEDIOLANVM Cross with trefoil in each quarter. Rev. S AMB – ROSIV’ St Ambrose nimbate facing seated in bishop’s throne, blessing with r. hand and holding crosier in l. hand. CNI 23/30 (soldo o ambrosino piccolo). By the end of the thirteenth century Milan issued grossi ambrosini of lighter weight, probably worth at the time 10 denari imperiali. i have 1 piece of this great antique . what do you know about this ? real picture attached . my coin condition is very good.
