So first try and find the history behind the article u holding dig ur family history where it came from then tree if some historical person gifted then it will, secondly make ownership declaration for it ,third and most importand get it registerd in Arch. Dept. Of India. they will give you antiq registration cirtificate. Then you can approach to auction houses or antique dealers.
