A lot of people keep talking about the 5 Rupees 5 Deer Note and huge amounts associated with the same.

There was NEVER a 5 Rupees Note containing the picture of 5 Deer nor 7 deer note printed.

THIS IS A 100% FAKE NOTE.

We have 3 Deer notes on the Rupees 5 denomination in three basic variations i.e. three signatures

C. D. Deshmukh( Mostly this note is manipulated in such a manner that it looks like it has five deer where in reality it has only 3 deer)

B. Rama Rao

and

P.C. Bhattacharya.

We have a 4 Deer note on the Rupees 5 denomination which contains three different signatures of

S. Jagannathan

And rarely L. K. Jha
And extremely rarely once again Mr. P.C. Bhattacharya

And last but not the least

We also have a 6 deer note on the Rupees 5 denomination containing the signature of

H.V.R. Iyengar
And once again Mr. B. Rama Rao.

So here is a small chart to make things easier to remember.

3 deer : B Rama Rao and P.C. Bhattacharya.

4 deer: S. Jagannathan, L. K. Jha and P.C. Bhattacharya

6 deer: B. Rama Rao and H.V.R. Iyengar

5 deer: fake note

7 deer: fake note.

A lot of people keep talking about the C series or C inset in the 1964 note

A few people also talk about D series or D inset in the 1964 note.

Now it is very very important to be aware of the fact that a 1964 one rupee note will ALWAYS HAVE ONLY ‘B’ Inset with an ‘A’ Prefix

The larger sized alphabet in the note is known as the Inset

The smaller sized alphabet containing a combination of 3 characters is known as the prefix, normally the prefix has one alphabet and two numerals…. And out of those three characters the small alphabet is known as the prefix…

in short and easy to understand language the small sized alphabet is known as the prefix.

The remaining set of 6 numbers is known as the serial numbers….

There is nothing ….called nor known as series, but a few people refer to the INSET as series.

The word “series” sometimes is also used to confuse innocent people between the prefix and the inset…

So once again any 1964 one rupee note or a bundle, containing a large B and a small A COULD be a genuine note…

(Please note: if forgers can create a fake note with other insets they can create a fake note with the genuine inset of “ B” and “a” prefix also, we need to be very careful before making payment and take an expert’s opinion on the same )

But a note or a bundle of 1964 containing C, D or any other alphabet as the inset is definitely not a genuine note.here you don’t even need an expert’s advice.
