The East India Company Eagle Note of 100 Rupees is a Memento note (Memento money). The origins of this design are unknown, but this note was never a real banknote, and nor did it ever have anything to do with the Reserve Bank of India, the Government of India, or the East India Company. It is memento money only. Buyers and sellers of these 'notes' would be well advised to bear this in mind
