Only identification criteria:

1.When you cut and smell the Rhizome, it would very similar to "Camphor" because of its rich content of Camphor in Rhizome about 28.3%.

2.Its very bitter in Taste (As its purely having medicinal properties with several integrands inside.

3.Color: deep blue

This identification is very "common sense" if somebody know real facts about BT / Kali Haldi / Kala Haldi / Black Turmeric / Curcuma Caesia etc.,
