by santoshyadav, Wednesday, March 02, 2011, 08:24 (5017 days ago) @ bharat

Dear Bharat,

The one rupee and two rupees notes ceased to be printed in the year 1994 itself, now that's a different story that a lot of people are searching for a genuine 1995 one rupee note...so far i have not been able to find a single 1995 one rupee note which i have felt is 100 percent genuine.

Generally people are curious about the Insets and Prefixes of denominations between Rupee One to Rupees Five, However I am giving you details for denominations between Re. 1 to Rs. 10.

If you need info on any other denomination above Rupees 10, please email me at santoshyadav4234@yahoo.com

so

Rupee 1 : ceased to be printed in 1994 itself Rupees 2 : ceased to be printed in 1994 itself --------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Rupees 5:

A) Notes printed in 1996 :

Signed by C. Rangarajan,

Inset-B,

B) Notes printed in 2000 :

Signed by Bimal Jalan,

Inset-Some notes had a plain Inset which means Inset-NOT PRESENT, A few notes were printed with L and R Inset

Prefix - It is difficult to say however as per the records, It could be A to G.

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Rupees 10

A) Notes printed in 1996 :

Signed by C. Rangarajan,

B) Notes printed in 2000 :

Signed by Bimal Jalan,

Inset- A, B, L, M, N, P, Q, R, S AND T.

Prefix - It is difficult to say however as per the records, it could be any one single letter between A TO W (Please note THE LETTERS 'I' AND 'O' are normally never used as a prefix to avoid confusion with one and zero respectively)
